The ReStore is a sustainable funding source created by Habitat for Humanity. Donated building materials and home items are re-sold at the ReStore to raise money for the construction of Habitat houses in Kanawha and Putnam counties. New, used and surplus materials are donated to the ReStore by individuals, contractors, businesses, retailers, manufacturers, and people like you!

News & Events

The Kanawha Valley Board of Realtors is a multi-year partner of Habitat for Humanity of Kanawha & Putnam. This year, however, due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the KVBOR is unable to volunteer as a large group out of an abundance of caution. However, board members are helping Habitat in a different way this year.

The proceeds from our two Habitat ReStores locations - one in Charleston and another in Teays Valley - go to our Habitat for Humanity of Kanawha & Putnam office located on Court Street in downtown Charleston. Then, the funds are put to work in our local community.

Most gently used items can either be donated, recycled, or repurposed. Find out the best way to make the most of your item by following these guidelines in the flowchart included in this article. While you may not be able to donate certain items like mattresses, Habitat Restores generally accept a variety of items.
